Uses
WaFFS is used to automate content delivery into SharePoint.
Common uses include;
- Multi-Function Device (MFD / MFP) – Scanned image delivery
- Network Scanner – Scanned image delivery
- Line of Business Systems – Generated document delivery
- Drop Folders – User drop folders
WaFFS Concept
Multiple folders and destinations can be defined;

Configuration is performed by editing XML files;
WaFFS and the Content Organizer
WaFFS is often configured to deliver to the SharePoint content organizer (Drop off Library).
This enables users to complete properties on the documents before it is automatically routed to the correct document library and folder based on content organizer rules.
WaFFS and MFP (Multi-Function Product/ Printer/ Peripheral), multi-functional, all-in-one (AIO), or Multi-Function Device (MFD)
Many MFDs cannot connect directly to SharePoint.
Many MFDs that list SharePoint compatibility are either;
- Unreliable in that delivery
- Are not compatible with all SharePoint versions or authentication mechanisms.
WaFFS provides a robust solution to this problem. The MFD can deliver to a network share which WaFFS watches.
