Overview

Test Case Extractor exports test cases from a test suite selected by the user to Excel.

Pre-Requisites

  1. .Net framework 4.0
  2. Version of Microsoft Office 2003 or beyond  

Installation

Please run the Test Case Extractor set up file (Test Case Extractor.msi) on your machine. A short cut will be created in Programs Menu as shown below

Usage

User can execute the tool by accessing the created short cut in Programs Menu.

Please follow the below steps to export test cases:

1. Connect to Team Foundation Server and specify the location of the Excel file to be saved. File extension should be either .xls or .xlsx

First Layout

2. A list of available test plans will be displayed in a drop down list only upon successful connection. Select the required test plan

3. All the available test suites for the selected tesplan will be displayed.

4. Select one of the test suites and click 'Generate' Button to export test cases to Excel at specified location.

Final Layout

5. User will be notified by a message once the Excel file has been saved
